Job/Internship Description

As a Firmware Engineer Intern you will become a contributor on a development team responsible for advancing inkjet printing technology for Hewlett-Packard. As a member on a multi-discipline team, you will be involved with investigations on new product technology from the design center of the world's leading printing products. Specific responsibilities will be associated with the design, development, maintenance, testing, and quality and performance assurance of firmware. You will work on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope, exercise independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution, apply subject matter knowledge to solve business issues within established guidelines, and recommend appropriate alternatives.

Qualifications

  • Completed sophomore year by Summer 2020 pursing a major in Computer Science
  • Strong knowledge of Software & Firmware Engineering principles
  • Good understanding of Operating Systems principles
  • Strong C and C++programming skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • High initiative
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Analytic ability to research technical issues and generate creative/innovative solutions

Desired:

  • Knowledge and experience with real-time embedded systems
  • Familiarity and experience with mechanical system interactions
  • Knowledge of build systems and processes
  • Experience with programming in the Linux Operating environment
