JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Manager for Intake and Counseling manages the clinical and administrative operations of the Intake process and staff in accordance with best practice standards of the profession, and all Agency policy and procedures. The Clinical Manager oversees the scheduling, screening and completion of intake interviews with consumers, and provide counseling services (individual and group therapy) to consumers.

Supervisory Responsibility: Provides administrative supervision to 3-5 employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the intake process for clients and provide appropriate referrals including Assertive Community Team (ACT) and Free Standing Mental Health Clinic (FSMHC) coordination.
    1. Approve intake assessments, Individual Recover Plans (IRPs) and administrative services within Intake.
    2. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure the intake process quality and quantity of intakes is being met.
    3. Follow up and manage all no-shows or cancelled appointments per regulations.
    4. Coordinate treatment with Clinical Managers and other involved staff members regarding consumer's progress and/or concern in counseling.
    5. Coordinate intake discharge summary submissions to Department of Behavioral Health for the Core Service Agency, including reviewing summaries for completeness and submitting them in Integrated Care Management Systems (iCAMS).
    6. Supervise interns involved in the intake process.
  • Coordinate with Access Helpline around any issues related to intakes.
  • Provide counseling services to consumers at Anchor Mental Health including those with insurances that require a LICSW.
    1. Act as primary therapist for the Free Standing Clinic which requires a LICSW.
    2. Provide therapeutic treatment to assigned caseload consistent with the written treatment plan.
    3. Develop treatment plans to establish goals and objectives for client treatment.
    4. Maintain client documentation according to required policies and procedures including assessments, contact notes, monthly progress notes, biannual treatment plan updates, any and all other clinical documentation related to the care of the client.
  • Coordinate treatment with Clinical Managers and other involved staff members regarding consumer's progress and/or concern in counseling.
    1. Train staff/interns on the intake process, assessments and treatment plan writing.
    2. Confirm staff/interns are following Credible daily routines by ensuring all services (billable and non-billable) are documented in Credibly by the next business day.
    3. Provide full support to department when Sr Clinical Manager is out by acting under an independent license.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) process.
  • Meet productivity standard (average 4.5 hours per day).

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling from an accredited college or university.
  • Current D.C. license in specific discipline i.e. LICSW, LPC.
  • Four (4) years direct service experience in a mental health setting.
  • Experience providing counseling to adults with serious and persistent mental illness, many with co-occurring substance abuse issues and histories of trauma.
  • Driving is required. Must have valid local license and clean driving record.

SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:

  • Clinical judgment and leadership skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
