POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Research Data Analyst independently leads various types of data projects and tasks involving clinical data from the CF Registry and other sources and provides analytical support for clinical research. The Senior Research Data Analyst engages in all stages of research projects from design and analysis to dissemination and works closely with experts across the spectrum of CF-related disease, which includes pulmonology, transplantation, and other clinical specialties. Specific responsibilities include independent design of research studies and methodologies; design and development of queries, statistical analyses, and analytical reports; collaboration with investigators to validate, troubleshoot, and interpret results; active participation in discussions about the CF Registry and the Registry data.

The Senior Research Data Analyst is also responsible for collaborating directly with our industry partners to design and execute regulatory data studies. Additionally, the Senior Research Data Analyst supports the design and deployment of the next generation of the CF Foundation Patient Registry by implementing complex queries and analyses with an ultimate goal to enhance the impact of the data collected at the Registry. The Senior Research Data Analyst also implements analyses to advance projects that address high priority research questions of interest to CFF and the broader CF community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct statistical analysis and complex queries for Foundation research projects.

  • Prepare reports for industry to submit to FDA and EMA to meet their mandated Post-Marking Requirements for approved therapies.

  • Develop quality control and coding resources and guidelines for internal use and to be shared with external data users.

  • Support research-focused harmonization and integration of CFFPR data with other sources (e.g., international CF registries, administrative data sets).

  • Collaborate with the Head of Data Science, CFF patient registry operations team, registry committee members and other CF community stakeholders on study design and data analysis.

  • Prepare conference submissions and contribute to peer-review manuscript development.

  • Fulfill analysis requests for data queries for external and internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with the Head of Data Science on registry operations, data quality and data dissemination, including annual data reports relevant to the next generation of the CF Foundation Patient Registry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's in Public Health, Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Applied Mathematics, or Bioinformatics.

  • Six or more years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and managing research databases using SQL and SAS, R or Python programming.

  • Experience with data visualization.

  • Strong analytic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate complex analysis results.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of the registry team.

  • Experience with the analysis of medical data and terminology.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to the Director, Biostatistics. No direct reports.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature.

  • No heavy lifting required.

  • Minimal travel (e.g., 4x/yr.) to conferences and meetings, as necessary.

The salary range is $87,000 to $100,000. Specific salary varies based on geographic location and is commensurate with experience.
