POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Communications Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Clinical Communications team including meeting logistics and technology, budget/financial processes, and systematic reviews. The Clinical Communications Coordinator also provides support on a variety of projects. Projects include document creation, education resources, and guidance document development and implementation. This is a hybrid role based in Bethesda, MD, and requires 2-3 days per week in the Bethesda office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides support to guidance document committees at the direction of the Senior Manager, Practice Guidelines, including but not limited to logistical and operational support, contributes to the orientation for committee members to the guideline development process, conducting systematic reviews, and publishing guideline manuscripts.

  • Disseminates published guidelines to CF healthcare professionals, individuals with CF, and their families, and other organizations as appropriate at the direction of CF Foundation personnel.

  • Assists the Senior Manager, Medical Programs with the CF Foundation's Discipline Specific Mentoring Programs, including but not limited to logistical and operational support, creating, and editing program documents and surveys, monitoring the mentoring email box, and responding to emails in a professional, timely manner.

  • Processes honoraria, reimbursements, and invoices for the mentoring programs and guidance document committees. Maintains the budget for the respective programs and committees.

  • Provides meeting support, including taking meeting minutes, scheduling in-person and virtual meetings, and setting up online video conferencing for the Clinical Communications team and committees they support.

  • Manages logistics for various initiatives to support members of the Clinical Communications team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in biology, public health, or related field.

  • One to two years of relevant work experience (may include internships) in health care, academic, or public health setting.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other data analysis software as needed.

  • Strong attention to detail for both completeness and accuracy is required.

  • Ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed to meet strict deadlines.

  • Flexibility is required, as is the ability to work independently, and as part of a team.

  • Strong writing and communication skills.

  • Ability to take initiative and make independent decisions following standard policies and procedures.

  • Customer service minded.

  • Ability to work well with many different types of people at all levels.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the program information, exercise proper discretion, and judgement.

  • Familiarity with PubMed and other biomedical libraries is a plus, but not required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to Senior Manager, Practice Guidelines. No direct reports.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature.

  • No heavy lifting required.

  • Minimal travel (e.g., 2x/yr.) to conferences and meetings, as necessary.
