The work location 100% remote. Residents of DC, Maryland and Virginia are preferred, as attendance at occasional meetings in DC will be required.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

Under close supervision of the legal operations manager, provide administrative and operational support to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the legal department business operations, supporting areas such as financial management, data analytics and reporting, onboarding, information governance, process improvement and other administrative and analytical tasks as assigned. Provides support to a full range of projects to drive strategic and operational initiatives and streamline new and existing processes and assists in developing information to help support decisions. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including finance, IT, HR and other business stakeholders, to achieve OGC operational objectives. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD:

  • Coordinate operational support activities such as business development, administration, budget management, business information systems, logistics and contracts.

  • Contribute to the development of department metrics for performance of business unit, organization, initiatives, project and/or business operations.

  • Assist in management of vendor relationships, including enforcement of outside counsel policies and vendor e-billing processes.

  • Conduct risk, resource, cost-benefit, variance, impact and/or other analyses of basic complexity.

  • Support data analytics and reporting capabilities & initiatives, responsible for gathering data, data cleansing and generating reports and dashboards.

  • Help to identify and implement legal department tools to streamline new or existing practices, as well as supporting design, rollout, and training for new processes and systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, IT, human resources, to achieve OGC operational objectives.

  • Support the hiring and onboarding process for OGC personnel, including temporary support and volunteers.

  • Coordinate and support knowledge management activities, serving as a manager of department internal sites and content manager for both internal and external resources.

  • Support the administration of new client engagements and legal matters.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Experience: 1-2 years of experience with legal project operations and management in-house or at a law firm; clerical experience also preferred.

Management Experience: N/A

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.

Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage an active workload.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; experience working with legal technology, cloud-based technology platforms and data analytics platforms preferred.

Energetic self-starter ready to bring creative solutions to the table.

Pay Information: The salary range for this position is $55,000-65,000

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.
