About the Role:

The Specialist II, Postsecondary Data Partnership Account Management (aka Account Management Specialist II) for the National Student Clearinghouse's Postsecondary Data Partnership (PDP) engages and supports educational organizations in their use of the PDP's data analytics tools for measuring and improving student outcomes. Such organizations may include individual colleges & universities, state systems & governmental agencies, intermediary organizations & education associations, and others that use Clearinghouse PDP data.

You will be a point of contact for your assigned accounts and will bring and acquire expertise to resolve issues that may arise for PDP users--or to channel those users to others for solution. For your accounts, you will be the "PDP expert" who helps them to use and understand the tool and who knows where to go to get answers to questions that may arise (when you can't answer those questions directly). You will also be expected to listen to customer needs and bring that feedback to product development teams, product operations and product implementations. You are an advocate for your accounts and are committed to the student success that they pursue.

The role will be managed by the PDP Clients and Partners Manager.

Currently, this position is 100% telework, however, as our company starts to return to our new normal, a hybrid work pattern, this position may be required to periodically work on-site at our office and the frequency would depend on the department/division's requirements. Therefore, candidates must either reside within a reasonable distance to commute to our office or be willing to travel to our office in Herndon, when required.

How You Contribute:

Customer Focus:

  • Use a structured tracking approach from opportunity planning and contracting through to data submission and usage of PDP insights.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in questioning, recording and resolving client needs and concerns.
  • Elicit customer feedback to determine satisfaction and any necessary response actions.
  • Accurately and consistently record activities within Salesforce or other platforms as required.
  • Participate in major national and regional higher education industry themed conferences as appropriate.

Optimizes Work Processes:

  • Work with Manager to build territory, account, and opportunity plans to focus activities based on the mission and product priorities for PDP Program.
  • Work with teams that impact customer journey to identify opportunities to better serve accounts and user satisfaction. Raise issues as necessary and track issue closure
  • Contribute to the successful on time, on budget and in scope delivery of business initiatives.
  • Contribute to development and tracking of KPIs.
  • Work with Manager and Product Operations to ensure shared objectives are met in serving a client.
  • Complete work with minimal supervision.

Communicates Effectively:

What You Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including military service.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in the education industry.
  • Experience working in, consulting with, or selling into educational institutions and/or educational organizations focused on measuring or improving student success.
  • Proven track-record of developing positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Professional familiarity with data and its usage relative to Higher Education.
  • Demonstrated experience with balancing competing considerations regarding data sensitivity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn new applications.
  • Demonstrates the Clearinghouse's core competencies: customer focus, optimizes work processes, communicates effectively, collaborates, and is open and authentic.

Additional Desired Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Public Policy, or a related field in Social Sciences.
  • Professional knowledge of and/or experience with PDP.
  • Demonstrated experience with large databases and data warehouse.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.
Physical Demands:
  • Use of a computer for 8 or more hours a day.
  • Use of a copy machine and telephone.
  • Frequently required to sit for 7 or more hours per day in close proximity to others in an open office environment.
  • Occasionally required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, and reach.
  • Must be able to hear, speak, read, and concentrate.
  • Vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be flexible to perform out-of-town assignments and travel via car, travel, train, regionally, up to 25%, including evening and weekends when needed.

We reasonably believe that the salary range for this position is between $62,000 to $80,000 annually.
