Job Description
Synchron, LLC has an exciting opportunity for Public Affairs Analyst to provide public affairs and strategic communication support for the U.S. Navy’s Team Submarine at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC!  The Public Affairs Analyst will directly support US Navy’s Team Submarine programs.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Track public affairs taskers from the media and general public ensuring a clear message is conveyed.
  • Develop and edit written materials (PowerPoints, speeches, letters, etc) intended for dissemination to the Congress, Department of Defense or the general public.
  • Provide daily updates to Team Submarine senior leadership on news stories and Congressional actions to ensure Team Submarine is apprised of the latest events.
  • Review and analyze news stories, congressional reports and legislation to provide updates, synopsis and impacts to Team Submarine.
  • On-site participation in meetings, working groups, and testing efforts as necessary to support the areas above.
  • Assist in the development of the communication strategy, key messages, and briefing materials for Navy senior leaders for the purpose of making critical decisions on Navy’s investment strategy that support Navy’s designated missions and war fighting capability.

Education and Experience Requirements:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technical or communications field
  • A minimum of five years’ related experience in strategic communications or public affairs
  • Significant experience in related to US Navy programs or operations; working knowledge of U.S. Navy organization, mission, purpose, and functions.
  • Analyst must be proficient at open source researching and highly experienced at writing, editing and graphical presentation in the support of strategic and fiscal communication for senior Navy, DoD, Congressional and public/private sector audiences.
  • Active Secret Clearance

Work Location: Washington Navy Yard. Telework options for 1-2 days per week.

Travel: Potential for travel (less than 10%)
