SCCI is seeking a Junior Engineer to join our team. In this position you will work with a dynamic and innovative technical team that utilizes a rapid development framework to innovate and maintain a portfolio of technical weapon system projects. You will work as part of a multi-functional team of engineers, developers and editors to document system development and capabilities. If you are a STEM graduate interested in a pathway toward opportunities for growth in areas such as training, test, or systems engineering, this may be the job for you! This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for the development of System Documents, Technical Manuals, as well as User / Operator Documentation and Training
  • Participate at weekly Technical and Hardware Review Boards (TRBs and HRBs), weekly Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and various Working Groups (WGs)Learn the technical content of system upgrades and enhancements (prior to system release) via several pathways, including participating in engineering discussions, supporting local test events, and obtaining details from subject matter experts and system developers
  • Develop new User Documentation
  • Understand the technical content and communicate that knowledge to a variety of audiences via several approaches: Procedures (e.g. Installation, Testing, Operation), System and Component Behavior Descriptions (e.g. User's Manual and Engineering Documentation System Descriptions, Training Curriculum), Graphics (e.g. Flow charts, Connection Diagrams)
  • Execute tasks with initiative and a self-starting approach to remain on the cutting edge of system capabilities in advance of system delivery to the customer
  • Apply configuration and version control to all documentation, ensuring that required Documents and Revisions are provided with every System/Software delivery, and that changes are tracked appropriately
  • Demonstrate an ability to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Perform with attention to detail in the review of document content, formatting and layout consistency

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
  • Knowledge of science, technology, engineering and mathematics principles and practices to address mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or systems engineering requirements
  • Experience documenting and communicating complex systems or procedures
  • Ability to understand and convey complex technical concepts in a logical and straightforward manner
