Job Description

Hill International is seeking an Inspector in Hoboken, New Jersey


  • Attending pre-construction meetings when necessary.
  • Evaluating plans and specifications for construction projects to ensure conformance with regulations.
  • Conducting field inspections to inspect standards of building structures and materials.
  • Assist in issuing of violation notices and stop-work orders where structures and materials do not comply with regulations.
  • Reporting deviations and non-compliance with the scope of work.
  • Prepare a detailed daily inspector's report with manpower, material quantity, equipment, photographs and maintaining records of documentation.
  • Attending meetings of construction projects.
  • Successfully Complete NJ TRANSIT Rail Safety Training (NJT Light Rail or other Agency Training may be required).

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Cell phone with smartphone capabilities (receive/send files, photos, video).
  • Available to work all shifts including nights and weekends.
  • Computer literacy and good written/verbal communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education or Training in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Construction Inspector in multiple discipline construction (Civil, Structural, Architectural).
  • Active experience in rail yard environment.
  • Trained in OSHA 30 Hours construction safety.
  • Proficient knowledge of construction work safety.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
