Pipette Calibration Technician - Chantilly, VA - Monday - Friday - 8:00AM-5:00PM

The Pipette Tech I is an entry-level position whereby they acquire the necessary skills and training certifications to independently perform the calibration, repair, preventative maintenance, and technical support for a variety of ancillary laboratory equipment (especially pipettes). Based upon the program developed, the Tech I should acquire the skills and proficiency required to perform at a Tech II level in approximately 12 months.


  • Provide calibration, repairs, and preventative maintenance to single channel, multi-channel, and repeater pipette device.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Work Experience:

  • N/A

Preferred Work Experience:

  • Able to calibrate, repair, or perform preventive maintenance on ancillary equipment from multiple manufacturers

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Must be mechanically inclined and able to work with small instruments (i.e., steady hands, good vision).
  • This position requires both physical and mental demands that will include sitting for long periods of time and focusing on the task at hand.

    * Ability to lift up to 20-30lbs.

    * Ability to walk distances (large facility).

    * Ability to bend, twist, stoop around labinstruments.

Knowledge:

  • N/A

Skills:

  • Organized and attention to detail; ability to independently problem solve, work in a highly documented and controlled environment and keep a working knowledge of regulatory standards.
  • Ability to work independently and well within a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with departments.
  • Working knowledge of PC network environment, MS Outlook, Word and Excel.

High School Diploma or Equivalent(Required)
