Overview
The Operational Evaluation Division (OED) has an immediate career opening for an Analyst supporting the Department of Defense's assessment of the operational effectiveness and suitability of Naval Warfare-related Defense Acquisition Programs. Responsibilities
The Analyst will support and advise mid and senior-level civilian and military officials regarding the operational test and evaluation of Naval Warfare programs. In particular, the successful candidate will provide analytical support to the Office of the Secretary of Defense regarding testing and evaluating amphibious and combat logistics ships. This effort includes analyzing the design, execution, and results of operational testing and providing independent assessments to the Office of the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation. Close interaction with government officials responsible for planning, developing, and executing tests is required. The Analyst is expected to travel for test events, including embarking on Navy and Military Sealift Command vessels for at-sea testing.
Required Qualifications
- Unit and staff level operational military experience.
- Candidates with a background in amphibious operations, surface warfare, maritime planning, or ship engineering systems are particularly desirable.
- Candidates must have at least 8 years of experience plus a Master's Degree in an applicable technical field, such as Operations Research, Engineering, Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, or an interdisciplinary program that encompasses one of these areas of focus.
- Must have experience compiling, analyzing, and presenting quantitative data.
- Candidates selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information as required.
- Candidates must be able to travel and to embark and perform tasks onboard a Navy or Military Sealift Command vessel at sea.
