EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Director in our Hughes Network Systems Division. This position will be located in our Gaithersburg, Maryland office. The role will be supporting our Government Solutions Federal Civilian team. This person should possess a strong technical acumen in managed communications solutions, including a deep knowledge of the satellite communications domain, managed broadband service, multi-orbit mobility or enterprise solutions, multi-transport Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN), terrestrial connectivity solutions to include 5G/LTE.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and sale of Federal Civil communications systems in assigned Federal and State agencies.
  • Represent Hughes directly to government agencies and strategic prime contractors at all levels of the organization, especially high-ranking civilians and senior management;also, effectively engage with technical leaders, evaluators, and other technical stakeholders/influencers.
  • Responsible for business development/selling and overall sales and account management.
  • Guide business development and sales efforts to expand business with his/her existing networks of senior contacts to win new customers.
  • Hold high-level technical discussions with peers, internal technical personnel and client/partner technical personnel.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, telecommunications or related technical field or combination of education and experience
  • 10 or more years of Business Development experience in the Federal Civilian Sector in managed communications solutions
  • 5 or more years leading business development capture efforts for new proposals and responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Must be a U.S. Person (e.g., U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, U.S. National or a protected individual under 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3)) as position requires access to U.S. export restricted materials.

  • Understanding customer needs and recommending innovative solutions
  • Seeking out new growth opportunities and generating new sales leads
  • Communicating technical capabilities and solutions to customers
  • Managing large complex Federal Civilian accounts and sales
  • Track record of selling into Federal government accounts
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Additionally, you will participate in the 2024 EchoStar North American Sales Compensation Program (ENSCP). The potential value of that program for you is up to $125,000 annually.
