Job Description

The Corporate Partnerships/Relationship Manager plays a pivotal role in establishing and nurturing strategic relationships with government agencies and clients. The Corporate Partnerships/Client Relationship Manager is passionate about finding smart and innovative ways to grow the program area work, capabilities, and expertise collaborating with other program teams to ensure JBS's solutions and innovations align with JBS's strategic plan and expand JBS's current program base. Your focus will be on driving growth, managing client relationships, and fostering long-term partnerships. This position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of government contracting, exceptional relationship management skills, and a track record of success. Reporting directly to Executive Leadership, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive new business growth. You will work closely with the program teams and the JBS Project Management Office to advance new business and ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.

You will be responsible for contributing to the development and delivery of measurable outcomes for new business growth collaborating with the Directors within the Impact Centers and program senior staff to develop and manage an annual program growth strategy focused on successfully capturing and executing new business. This position is highly visible and challenging requiring a high level of commitment, business acumen, relationship building, leadership qualities, and a motivated attitude.

The right person in this role combines new business development with targeted content expertise and shares a deep and personal affinity to JBS's Mission, "making real progress to improve the lives of real people, every day."

***This is a hybrid role and will report 2-3 days into our North Bethesda, MD Office. ***

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

New Growth and Business Development Planning and Implementation

  • Develops and executes strategies to pursue and expand client relationships, including aligning JBS strategic plan with the development and management of an annual new growth and marketing strategy that expands and maintain a multi-year pipeline of opportunities
  • Functions as a thought leader in a targeted content areas
  • Promotes JBS brand and expertise within networks and within client agencies and events
  • Tracks public health and healthcare industry trends relevant to core client business and bring forth proactive ideas and solutions.
  • Leads new business identification within a targeted area including pipeline development and management

Client Management

  • Cultivates strong relationships with government agencies, key stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Engages in content driven discussions with Impact Centers and clients, aligning with their priorities and relevant trends.
  • Leads new business capture management from opportunity identification to solutioning, team coordination, pricing, and successful handoff to Impact Center team
  • Acts as the primary liaison for government clients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and fostering positive interactions
  • Ensures client satisfaction by proactively addressing their needs and maintaining open communication
  • Serves as the day-to-day point of contact for a select set of clients

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Contributes to a matrix organization providing indirect supervision as required. Direct supervision of staff dependent on corporate growth.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Advanced degree in relevant field

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years' of progressively responsible experience in government contracting or related fields
  • Minimum 10 years of experience applying the above disciplines within a Federal environment
  • Experience leading capture of new business
  • Experience leading HHS funded multi-year projects over $10 million dollars
  • Current relationships with Federal clients, preferably in HHS
  • Proven track record of client relationship management, account management, or related experience selling professional services and account management to government clients

Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of targeted content area
  • Knowledge of Government contracting and related performance expectations
  • Knowledge of business development and approaches for capture planning and new business execution
  • A solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics

  • Ability to identify opportunities and drive business growth

Security Clearance

  • Must be able to obtain public trust clearance through a suitability determination and background investigation

Language: English fluency (oral and written)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk or computer workstation
  • Regularly uses a computer, keyboard, and mouse
  • Normal or corrected vision to read documents, view computer screens, and perform tasks that require visual accuracy
  • Ability to hear and understand spoken information in person and over the phone
  • Minimal lifting and carrying may be required, typically light office supplies or documents
  • Ability to move within the office environment to access equipment, files, and interact with colleagues
  • Ability to handle occasional stress related to deadlines, workloads, or challenging tasks
