The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 2 provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor, and mentor. Demonstrates leadership skills in decision making and problem solving. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others. Uses standards and guidelines for cost-effective care delivery while incorporating data and information to continuously improve care and practice to enhance outcomes.

Hours: Monday - Friday, Days
Location: Loudoun Hospital
Job Responsibilities
- Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments that integrate changing data as documented in procedure notes.
- Tailors and prioritizes caring practices to individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (e.g. treatment options).
- Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care while determining immediate priorities and offering solutions for problems.
- Assists the physician with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cath lab with the preparation of the sterile field, selection and preparation of instruments and supplies, manipulation of cardiac catheters, guidewires etc. and injection of contrast media. Administers medications, including moderate sedation, as directed by the physician.
- Calibrates, operates and troubleshoots a wide variety of equipment and instruments on a daily basis. Maintains quality assurance records as required.
Requirements for Consideration:
- Graduate of an accredited, school of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology and/or Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education and experience.
- -Registered in one of the following: RCIS, RTR CV, RTR CI, unless a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- One year of experience in interventional Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab performing Cardio Invasive Specialist duties or equivalent years of experience as a nurse working in a critical care hospital unit.
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
- Electrophysiology experience, preferred.
