Position Purpose:

This position will be responsible for creating, deploying and managing global training and communications pro-grams directed to all Stericycle employees to ensure awareness of, and adherence to laws and regulations applicable to Stericycle's businesses and E&C policies, processes and requirements. Act as a strategic partner with the international ethics and compliance team to determine and deploy training and communication strategies that will remediate and prevent compliance issues. This position will be responsible for helping create a culture of compliance throughout the company.

Key Job Activities:
  • Identify training needs and create and deploy comprehensive online and in-person global training programs to reduce the risk of new and existing employees violating laws and regulations applicable to Stericycle's businesses. Position collaborates with regional compliance directors and local business leaders to provide in-person training at a regional and local level on in the appropriate local language.
  • Develop and oversee an E&C intranet site that houses Ethics and Compliance policies and other relevant company policies and materials. Develop self-help materials and other resources for employees to access to drive awareness of ethics and compliance requirements. Role ensures that employees have access to Code of Conduct, policies and other necessary information to ensure compliance and support compliant culture.
  • Create, deploy and oversee an audit-able process for monitoring employees' completion and understanding of E&C training programs, and collaborate with HR, Legal and other business functions to provide metrics and other evidence of training completion.
  • Create, develop and deliver a comprehensive global E&C communications and awareness program that includes regular communications and events that accompany the roll-outs of new and revised ethics and compliance policies and procedures and support and enhance Stericycle's culture of compliance. The role must effectively communicate standards of conduct, legal principles and behavioral expectations on complex compliance-related issues to a global audience of varying levels of sophistication.
  • Collaborate with and support business leaders by developing and providing E&C training and communications that promote ethical leadership. Develop and provide E&C materials for leaders to incorporate into business function meetings and other settings.
  • Manage a program that includes ethics and compliance behavioral incentives in performance reviews and other settings (e.g., awards ceremonies, "compliance employee of the month") that drive compliance culture and awareness. Collaborate with HR and other stake holders to deploy.
  • Manage third party training service providers, including identifying and negotiating providers best suited to meet the company's training and communications requirements.
  • Develop and deploy processes to monitor the effectiveness of compliance training and awareness and provide regular metrics and reporting to the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education or experience required; graduate degree desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years related job experience in employee training and communications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in employee learning and development.
  • Demonstrated excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Ethics and Compliance related training and development experience preferred, including expertise in Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) or other anti-bribery/anti-corruption regulations, anti-competitive behavior, fraud-related issues, and business ethics.
  • Candidate must be detail oriented, able to exercise sound judgment, and observe the highest degree of confidentiality in the handling of information received in the course of this position.
  • Proficient at intermediate/advanced level in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Very strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills, including experience interacting with senior managers;
  • Ability to handle confidential and/or sensitive information in a professional manner;
  • Strong decision-making, solid judgment, critical thinking, creativity, and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize work to meet deadlines; and
  • Self-starter with ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Preferred intermediate/advanced knowledge of a Learning Content development tool (e.g., Articulate, Skillsoft, Captivate, etc..)
