Balazs Nanoanalysis is a contract analytical laboratory owned by Air Liquide Electronics is world-wide leader in supplying gases, specialty chemicals and services to a wide variety of industries. Balazs Nanoanalysis operates analytical labs around the world serving both internal and external clients. We support clients in a wide array of industries including semiconductor, biotechnology, aerospace/defense industry, solar, energy storage, automotive and many others. Our highly-skilled chemists assist other scientists and engineers from companies in these fields to support a wide array of activities such as quality assurance, contamination studies, R&D and failure analysis.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Our Organic Lab specializes in a wide variety of measurements including QC/QA, Failure Analysis and R&D support. We utilize a large number of techniques for this work including GC-TCD/GC-FID/GC-MS, FTIR, Raman Spectroscopy, UV-Vis, TGA/DSC, ATD-GCMS, HPLC/HPLC-MS, LC-MS and NMR. The HPLC/HPLC-MS, LC-MS Scientist will work in an exciting, fast-paced and dynamic environment and be part of an enthusiastic team passionate about providing quality data and answers to our customers in a timely manner. This individual will be responsible for helping grow our HPLC/HPLC-MS, LC-MS business beyond our current customer base and type of samples. The chosen candidate must like running routine QC/QA work as well as developing measurements for new and challenging types of samples.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and analysis of routine and non-routine HPLC, LC-MS and LC-UV samples.

  • Method development for HPLC/LC-MS/LC-UV analyses.

  • Responsible for accurate evaluation, interpretation, and verification of LC-UV and LC-MS analyses.

  • Preparation of analysis reports.

  • Perform general maintenance on the LC-MS and LC-UV instruments to ensure the LC instruments remain operational and minimize downtime.

  • Follow all SOPs and lab safety and quality requirements.

  • Remain current on all training and foster a safe working environment.

  • Understand and follow safe handling procedures for hazardous chemicals.

  • Work collaboratively with team members on analyses as required.

  • Communicate internally and externally with customers, the sales team, etc, to make analytical recommendations and discuss data and results.

  • Provide technical presentations internally and externally as necessary.

  • Updates the laboratory manager on activities in the lab.

  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts within the lab on improved methods and method development.

  • Maintains 6S in the laboratory.

  • Must be able to provide support to other laboratory areas as needed.

  • Active participation in all internal and external audits.

  • Must have initiative, be self-motivated, and be able to work under time pressure and change plans on short notice.

  • Excellent English communication skills (both written and spoken) and a strong passion for customer service.

Required

  • M.S. in chemistry, materials science or related field

  • 5+ years of industry experience.

  • Extensive experience in HPLC/HPLC-MS, and LC-MS.

Preferred

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science or related field

  • Other organic analysis techniques (e.g. GC-MS, IC, FTIR, UV-Vis) experience

The Salary rate range for this position in California is $97,000.00 to $110,000.00
