Position Summary:

The mission of Children's Aid (CA) is to help children in poverty succeed and thrive. CA works with children, youth, and their families in targeted low-income communities from infancy through young adulthood, providing a range of services to meet physical, socio-emotional, educational and family stability needs. CA P.O.W.E.R program funded by the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) seeks to educate children and youth on the dangers and consequences of alcohol and drug use. The P.O.W.E.R program delivers evidence-based programs (EBPs) and positive alternatives to prevent and reduce alcohol and substance use utilizing the prevention framework.

Children's Aid P.O.W.E.R. program seeks a passionate Prevention Program Director (PPD) to assist with managing the State Opioid Response Grant (SOR III). The PPD will represent OASAS partnering networks (Brooklyn Regional Network and Citywide (CASN.) Network). The PPD will assist with implementing and overseeing evidenced-based Programs (EBPs) Strengthening Families, Triple P, and SSET Programs in Brooklyn and Manhattan with shelter, prevention and treatment providers, schools, and other CBOs. The PPD will be responsible for SOR III staffing, training, networking, and obtaining contractual goals. Special work groups, preparation of groups, and debriefs. The PPD will be the liaison between the Prevention POWER program and Regional Networks. The PPD's reports directly to the POWER program Site Director of Hope Leadership Academy.

Essentilal Duties:

  • Oversee SOR III contract.
  • Supervise SOR III prevention staff.
  • Attend all Regional Network meetings.
  • Assist with SOR workplans and work scopes.
  • Liaise between Hope Leadership Site Director to collaborate services and execute delivery of services
  • Recruit and retain youth and families for prevention services.
  • Plan and prepare lesson plans for all evidenced based.
  • Provide intervention and make referrals as needed.
  • Maintain accurate, complete records of programs and projects.
  • Administer pre/post -test evaluations.
  • Utilize database to record program attendance and demographics (WITNYS, Triple P, Survey Monkey, GRPA)
  • Prepare all reports including input to the daily/monthly OASAS reports.
  • Organize and provide presentations to community agencies, schools and other stakeholders on prevention services.
  • Establish Community Events.
  • Provide prevention information at local health fairs and community events
  • Adhere to policy and procedures of CA.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • CPP, CPS and or CASAC Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

  • 3-5 years' experience working with adolescents and families

Key Compentencies:

  • Bilingual preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft, Excel
