SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the Data Warehouse team. The Data Warehouse team designs, develops, and supports the AAMC Data Warehouse, the AAMC’s central data repository for research, data analysis, and enterprise reporting. The team works closely with the Business Intelligence team is responsible for enterprise reporting and/or reporting applications.
In support of these activities, the incumbent: (1) Is responsible for ensuring that users have access to the timely and accurate data compiled from AAMC and external sources they need. (2) Works with IT and non-IT managers and staff to develop and document data access, management, reporting, and retention requirements and then to implement solutions to meet those requirements. (3) Manages a team of data management professionals who construct and maintain the data processing infrastructure to integrate data into the Data Warehouse and prepare data for decision support. (4) Responsible for expanding the scope and changing the structure of the Data Warehouse in accordance with strategic goals and user requirements. (5) Maintains excellent working relationships with Data Warehouse customers" (internal AAMC staff, researchers, analysts, data stewards) and IT managers and developers responsible for the perational systems. (6) Has day-to-day responsibility for the Data Warehouse support and operations, and manages evaluation, implementation, and development projects as needed. (7) Contributes to the overall leadership of the Enterprise Information unit inside IT to ensure that activities and priorities are well coordinated. (8) Works closely with technical staff, internal AAMC program management staff, external partners' technical contacts, and, on occasion, external constituents. (9) Possesses the technical knowledge and the ability to effectively lead and manage information systems staff.
